Sail Time privacy policy
Your sea-service record follows you across devices. This page explains what we process and the choices you have in Sail Time for Android.
Your account and logbook sync through Firebase. Photos are optional. You control exports and can delete your account in Profile.
About this app
Sail Time is provided by 19°Lat for recording and calculating sea service. This policy covers the Android application. The other platform has its own privacy policy.
The Android app offers email/password, Google and phone sign-in. A phone or Google method linked to the same Firebase account on iOS opens that account on Android.
The Android build includes Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. These services can process app events, app/device details, installation identifiers, crash stack traces and diagnostics for usage analysis and reliability. App Check uses Google Play Integrity to help validate requests. The reviewed Android build does not include an advertising SDK. See Firebase Analytics privacy and Firebase/Crashlytics privacy.
Account and profile information
Depending on the sign-in method you choose, we process your name, email address, phone number, Firebase account ID and optional profile photo. Firebase Authentication handles passwords and authentication tokens. We do not ask you to send passwords or one-time codes to our support team.
Your sea-service record
We store the information you enter: vessel name, rank, vessel type, owner or pool, joining and sign-off ports, contract dates, optional passport departure and return dates, and the photos you select. Contract and profile records are stored in Google Cloud Firestore; uploaded photos are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage so your record can sync across devices.
Passport travel dates are entered manually. The app does not require a passport number, passport scan, contacts access or your device's GPS location.
How we use and share information
We use this information to sign you in, show and calculate your sea-service record, sync changes, provide exports, respond to support requests and protect the service against abuse. We do not sell your logbook, profile or photos, or publish them to other Sail Time users.
Google/Firebase provides authentication, database, image storage and security services. Apple processes Apple sign-in when you choose it on iOS. Authorized service operators may access information for support, service administration, security or legal obligations. Service providers may process information outside your country.
Authentication and security providers may process IP addresses, account or installation identifiers, device/OS/app information, usage information and SDK diagnostics. Google Sign-In may use an IP address to estimate a general location for fraud prevention. SDK providers use technical data to maintain and understand their services; this does not mean the iOS app includes the separate Firebase Analytics or advertising SDK. We do not request GPS location access.
Access to account records is controlled by authentication and server-side rules. Photos can be loaded through Firebase download links: someone you share a valid image link with may be able to view that image. Treat exports and image links as private.
Photos and exports
Only photos you choose are uploaded; the app does not upload your entire photo library. CSV and PDF exports are generated on your device and shared only when you choose a destination. Copies you export or share are controlled by you and the recipients.
Phone verification and linked accounts
When you request an SMS code, your phone number is sent to Google/Firebase for verification and abuse prevention. SMS charges and delivery restrictions may apply. When you agree to link another sign-in method, it is associated with your existing Firebase account and logbook. Linking a real phone number or Google identity to an Apple Hide My Email account identifies that same account through the linked method. Existing accounts are not automatically combined.
Retention and deletion
Your cloud account, contracts and photos remain while your account exists. Signing out or uninstalling the app does not delete cloud records. You can edit your profile, delete individual contracts, or choose Profile → Delete account to remove your account, contracts and uploaded photos from active app storage after identity confirmation and successful completion.
For an account-deletion request without access to the app, use our contact page or email nineteenlat@outlook.com. Include the sign-in email or phone number needed to identify your account. We may ask you to prove account ownership. Never include a password or OTP. Deletion from active app storage does not immediately remove every provider backup or security log. Firebase states that Authentication data is removed from its live and backup systems within 180 days after account deletion. Provider security logs, support correspondence or legally required records may be retained for their applicable purposes; exported copies already shared cannot be recalled by us.
Security and your choices
We use authenticated access, encrypted connections and server-side access rules. No service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your sign-in methods and device secure. You can omit optional photos and fields, choose your sign-in method, request access or correction through support, and delete your account. On iOS you may choose Apple Hide My Email; linking another method is optional and requires your agreement.
Children
Sail Time is intended for professional sea-service record keeping, not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information can contact us for review and deletion.
This website and support
These pages are hosted by Hostinger. Website hosts may process IP addresses and request logs for delivery and security. The site loads the Nunito font through Google Fonts and remembers your selected light/dark theme in browser storage. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent abuse. Information you submit to support is used to handle your request and may be processed by our hosting and email providers. These new policy pages do not load Google Analytics.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change. The effective date appears above. For privacy questions, correction or deletion requests, contact 19°Lat through the Sail Time contact page or nineteenlat@outlook.com.
